What to See: Sunlight Rock, known also as Dragon Head Hill (Longtou Shan) by Chinese and Camel Rock (Luotuo Shan) by foreigners, faces Tiger Head Hill across the bay on Xiamen Island. Locals say that the dragon and tiger join forces to guard Xiamen Harbor. Sunlight Rock Temple, which is located partially within a cave, is often called "One Tile Roof " (Yi Pian Wa) because a large rock forms part of the roof. It is also called a "Pocket Temple" because it covers only 2,856 square meters. Visitors to Gulangyu should also try to see Shuzhuang Garden, Haoyue Park, Koxinga Memorial Hall, Seaworld, Gangzihou Bathing Beach, and the Piano Museum.

What to Eat: Fresh seafood, deep-fried pork rolls and peanut soup are all available at the Lujiang Harbor View Hotel's rooftop restaurant, which lies just across the bay in Xiamen and offers great views of Gulangyu. On the 24th floor of the Seaview Building there is a Pizza Hut which is also famous locally for providing tremendous views.
