Transformers Land in Shanghai

The largest official gathering of Transformers fans congregated on July 30 at Landmark Brand Expo in Shanghai.

Hasbro Inc. is promoting the first ever official Transformers fan convention to be held in Asia. Building on the tremendous momentum of popular brands around the world, an extensive collection of Transformers collectables were presented during the expo.

 During the visually stunning exhibit, fans were also invited to experience a wide variety of offerings from the brand’s current toy line.

The Second Zhongshan Cup

On July 29, the Second Zhongshan Cup, an Overseas Chinese Literature Award, was launched in Beijing.

Literary works in Chinese in a variety of media, such as novels, poetry, essays, biographies, dramas, TV or film scripts are eligible for submission. Works are required to be published after 1949 on Chinese mainland or related to the theme of “overseas Chinese and the 1911 Revolution.”

The submission deadline will be extended until July 2011. Awards will be presented in November 2011 in Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province, to honor Dr. Sun Yat-sen.
